Trade in your mobile phone for cash

PEOPLE will now be able to trade in their old mobile phone in exchange for cash in three Timpson stores across the borough, after the retailer struck a deal with Music Magpie.

AO World, which bought Music Magpie in December 2024, said the tie-up would offer a “faster and more convenient way” for people to trade in their old phones.

The news comes after a four-month trial that has seen the service available in more than 1,300 Timpson stores across the UK, and will add to its existing offering which currently includes shoe repairs, key cutting and dry cleaning.

Customers will be able to hand over their phone in-store and have it assessed while they wait, with funds transferred “within minutes”.
