The Indian Constitution, which took almost three years to finalize, was deliberately designed to secure the nation's future through a comprehensive and modern framework.

A central feature is the creation of independent constitutional bodies intended as safeguards for India's democratic system. These bodies are protected by constitutional guarantees, including secure tenure, fixed service conditions, and financial independence. This framework was established both to counteract the legacy of British rule and to realize the aspirations of our freedom fighters.The failure and encroachment of accountability, transparency and credibility may prove to be a cataclysmic for the democratic temple of ours. Strengthening and maintaining these bodies is crucial to sustaining the trust of 1.46 billion Indians and upholding democratic values.
