Van Dijk confirms progress in liverpool contract talks as title nears for reds this season

LIVERPOOL captain Virgil van Dijk says "progress" has been made in contract talks with the club as he looks to keep him at Anfield.

The 33-year-old Dutch international, along with Liverpool teammates Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold, is out of contract at the end of this season.
Van Dijk, asked after Sunday’s 3-2 Premier League defeat at Anfield by Crystal Palace if there was progress in the discussions, told reporters: “There is progress, yeah.”
He expanded on what that meant exactly, he added: “Listen, these are confidential discussions and we’ll see.
“I love the club, I love the fans and I love it there for us again (at Fulham).
