Merosha Dasarath– Power in her purpose
Post
|August 06, 2025
MEROSHA Dasarath wears many hats — attorney, conveyancer, notary public and director at leading law firm Legator McKenna Incorporated - but it’s her trailblazing role in women empowerment that truly sets her apart.
-
Although now perfectly positioned as one of the city’s leading legal practitioners, Dasarath did not consider a career in law during her adolescent years. The youngest of four siblings, her initial ambition was to work in the family business that her parents, Rupert and Shusheila Dasarath, had grown from humble beginnings into a highly successful “empire”.
Both her mother and father played significant roles in her education, personal empowerment and ultimately in the success she has attained today. Her dad worked two jobs to support the family and ensure that her mom could study further.
While a career as an attorney was not something she had originally aspired to, Dasarath has absolutely no doubt that this is what she was always meant to do. After graduating in 2001, she served her articles at Legator, McKenna Incorporated under the “legendary” Michael McKenna, who remains a significant influence on her career development.
