Undefeated Blair are tourney champs
Perthshire Advertiser
|May 23, 2025
A small contingent of Blairgowrie RFC members travelled up to Montrose to play in their Inaugural T1 touch tournament, a brilliant day was had, and the event was very well attended with eight teams competing for the title.
Albeit aimed at people new to the sport and there were certainly some decent players reliving their youth and passing on their knowledge to the younger and less experienced people taking part.
All in all, a great day, with Blairgowrie going undefeated all day, they were crowned champions under the fantastic captaincy of Mollie Brown, the final was a particularly challenging game, but Blair held out and it was played in the best of spirits.
Many thanks to all who took part and to Montrose RFC for their hospitality, for myself it was great to be back at the club where I started my rugby career and catching up with a couple of lads I used to play alongside.
With the season at an end, there is still much work happening behind the scenes, Jordan Lynn has been in his element fertilising and harrowing the grounds in the little John Deere (queue the ‘nothing runs like a deereuntil it’s caught by a Puma’).
Plenty jobs are still getting done, many thanks to all who are still giving up their time to keep things ticking along.
