Perth's River Island store to close

High street fashion retailer River Island looks set to shut its Perth store as it embarks on a sweeping overhaul of the business.

The company has revealed a comprehensive list of 33 stores slated for closure, including the branch at Perth's St John's Shopping Centre, as part of its restructuring strategy.

Last week, River Island confirmed its intentions following a Sky News report, although it initially withheld details of the affected locations.

The revamp plan, which also encompasses proposals to slash rents at numerous River Island outlets, is set to be presented to creditors in August and will require the High Court's approval.
