Permission to serve alcohol is granted

A Perthshire bowling club has been granted permission to serve alcohol, which bowlers say will help meet a social need within the club and village.
At a recent Licensing Board meeting, councillors heard Comrie Bowling Club's membership had doubled in six years.
On Wednesday July 2, Perth and Kinross Licensing Board unanimously agreed to grant a premises licence for Comrie Bowling Club.
Bowling club committee member David Pettigrew told councillors: "It's a small friendly club, established in 1956. Within my six years as a member it's grown from 25 to 49 which is brilliant - and I'm now no longer the youngest member!
"But now with the increased membership, we feel there's a social need within the club and the village for additional licence provision within the club.
