City PH20 plans are backed by Perth MP
Perthshire Advertiser
|July 04, 2025
Perth MP Pete Wishart has backed the city’s PH20 leisure centre at Thimblerow following the recent approval of the scheme by PKC councillors.
-
He described the project as “an overwhelmingly positive opportunity for Perth, which will boost the local economy; increase footfall in our city centre; enhance Perth’s attractiveness as a place to live, work and visit; and ensure that members of the public have a place to stay fit and healthy for generations to come.”
Last month PKC councillors voted by 24 votes to 15 in favour of revised plans for PH20 which included flumes and a larger splashpad play area and for Capability Scotland to relocate its Upper Springland facilities to the Glover Street site.
The £97m investment also includes plans to upgrade the leisure facilities in Kinross and Crieff and develop Perth’s Bell’s Sports Centre as an unheated, covered sports pitch/events space.
