Stephen Robinson yesterday got back to basics with his St Mirren squad after Saturday night’s shambles at the SMISA.

The Buddies returned to Ralston for the start of the working week leading up to the vital Premiership trip to rock-bottom Livingston.

A 5-0 mauling by Motherwell represented the club’s heaviest defeat at Greenhill Road since October 2012.

And it was the biggest loss Robbo has endured since he took over the Buddies four years ago.

It's a result which leaves Saints just two points above rejuvenated Kilmarnock who occupy the relegation playoff spot.

Crucially, the Paisley outfit have a game in hand when they face Dundee United at Tannadice on Tuesday, March 3.

And Robbo says it will be very much back to the drawing board after conceding his switch to a 4-2-3-1 formation against the Steelmen backfired.
