Warning for retailer after fireworks seized

A Renfrewshire business has been formally warned after it was found to be selling a “large quantity” of fireworks without the relevant licence.

The retail premises had almost 27kg of net explosive content of pyrotechnic products on display on its shelves with no storage registration.
The items were subsequently seized and sent for destruction while a formal warning letter was given to the unnamed premises for the breach.
The situation was disclosed in a Trading Standards update included in a report to Renfrewshire Council's communities and housing policy board on Tuesday.
