Supporting the most vulnerable

Last week saw the announcement of the programme for government for the next year by First Minister John Swinney.
Something a lot of people take for granted; plans for the future, the way forward for the next year, things that may seem distant or abstract.
These things are important and it is essential that there is continued progress year on year in order to ensure that the needs of the people are advanced.
Staying put is not an option.
In order to do the things the government wants to do, the finances have to be right.
That is why growing the economy is one aspect that the First Minister has focused on.
Since the SNP came to power in 2007, GDP has grown by over 10 per cent per person in Scotland compared to only six per cent for the UK.
This is important. Without the economy being in a good condition, the finances required for the services we get and appreciate cannot happen.
