Support tailored for students' career paths

A new support programme aimed at helping care-experienced students has been launched by the University of the West of Scotland (UWS).

The university, which has a campus in Paisley, will also be providing backing to any students who are estranged from their families.

The 'Careers Connection' scheme is designed to assist students who have experience of being in care, are from a looked-after background, or may not have the support or approval of a family network, in ensuring they are able to get the most out of their time at university, and that they're supported into the world of work.

Through the programme, care-experienced and estranged students can receive one-to-one careers advice from a dedicated careers adviser while accessing information and resources tailored to students' unique needs and experiences.
