Road to close for rail bridge repair work

Network Rail will begin vital work to repair a railway bridge at Langbank station and renew part of the platform connected to it next month.

The £652,000 project will help maintain the safety and reliability of the railway for passengers and freight, as well as the road that runs beneath the bridge.

The work involves masonry and steelwork repairs to the underbridge as well as replacing a section of the platform. Routine maintenance work will also take place.

To allow the project to be delivered safely and efficiently:

Station Road will be closed from January 19, 2026, until March 13.
