Robinson reveals he had monitored cup hero for years
Stephen Robinson says Premier Sports Cup quarterfinal hero Jayden Richardson was on his radar well before he signed for St Mirren.
The English wing-back, who joined the Buddies this summer from National League side Boreham Wood, has hit the ground running — to the delight of Robbo.
After a turbulent spell at Aberdeen in 2022, whom he joined on a permanent deal from Nottingham Forest, a loan move to Sky Bet League One outfit Stockport County was completed at the start of the following season in a bid to rediscover his belief and confidence.
From there, he moved to League Two Colchester United and then Boreham Wood of the National League South on a free, after parting ways with the Dons, before he was snapped up by Saints. However, it was his season on loan at Notts County in 2021-22 which caught the eye of Robinson.
