Primary is first ASN school in Scotland to win STEM accolade

A Lochwinnoch school has made history after becoming the first additional support needs (ASN) facility to win a prestigious award
Forest View Primary has received the STEM Nation Award from Education Scotland - the first ASN school across Scotland's 32 local authorities to be presented with this exemplarity certification.
The award recognises the school's commitment to promoting leadership, engaging families in learning, fostering employability and building partnerships, developing a strong STEM [science, technology, engineering and mathematics] curriculum, establishing clear learning pathways and ensuring equality in access to STEM opportunities.
The school is part of the Paisley-based national child and youth care charity Kibble.
As part of an extensive programme of STEM-based activities, pupils were taught about the impact of energy use on the environment through a Saving Energy Day exercise.
