Modular building plan for library move

Renfrewshire councillors will today receive an update on plans to relocate Erskine Library when its lease is up next year.

The facility is due to move from its current home in Bridgewater Place to a modular building that will be set up at Erskine Sports Centre in Kilpatrick Drive.

However, this is not expected to involve the use of a unit at Renfrew Sports Centre, as previously proposed, with officers"progressing arrangements" to commission a new one instead.

The current lease for Erskine Library expires in May and, according to a report to a meeting of the leadership board, the landlord is not willing to extend it.
