First phase of restoring historic building starts

Work to repair the B-listed former police station in Renfrew has begun, it can be confirmed, after more money was directed towards the project earlier this year.
The job will be carried out in three phases, with the first, focusing on asbestos removal, already underway and expected to be complete by the end of 2025.
This will be followed by rot removal and the demolition of a rear portion of the landmark in Inchinnan Road but those timescales are “still to be determined”.
A Renfrewshire Council spokesperson told the Express: “Works to repair and maintain the former police station in Renfrew are now underway.
