Drunk thug made vile threats to worker over luggage fee

A boozed-up thug who “ruined the Christmas” of an airport worker has been ordered to carry out community service.

- EMYLIE HOWIE

Billy Reid was verbally abusive towards a female member of easyJet staff last December after he discovered he was being charged for oversized luggage.

The 22-year-old called the woman a “f**#g a******e” and threatened she would get “what was coming to her”.

The procurator fiscal depute told Paisley Sheriff Court yesterday: “Around 2.30pm on December 21, 2024, [the employee] was working in her capacity as a coordinator for easyJet.

“At this time, she was working with two others and all three were working at gate 12E boarding the easyJet flight to Tenerife.

“The flight was initially due to depart at 1.10pm, however, had been delayed and was not scheduled to leave until 4pm.

“Once boarding had commenced, she was in charge of taking payment for any oversized bags.
