Double defeat for Clan

And while Clan’s assistant manager Mike Sirant felt the desire to win was within the team, he admits execution was the problem.

On Friday night, the Purple Army travelled south of the border to take on leaders Nottingham Panthers and were comfortably beaten 7-1.

And there was little respite on Saturday when a packed Braehead Arena watched Clan lose 4-3 to Belfast Giants who edged it on penalty shots after the match was level at the end of overtime.
