Council rejects bid to create short-term let

Plans to transform a beauty salon in Paisley into a short-term let have been refused by Renfrewshire Council.

JM Real Estate's application for planning permission for a change of use of the facility in Glenburn Road has been rejected.

It had hoped to convert the property, which is located next to the Mill & Brae hotel, into a unit with five bedrooms.

However, the company has been unsuccessful in its bid after the local authority decided the proposal was not a fit for the area.

A report of handling said: "This application seeks planning permission for the change of use of a beauty salon (Class 1A) to short-term let accommodation (sui generis) on Glenburn Road, Paisley.
