Concern over dog use in experiments

I hope that everyone who celebrates or enjoyed the Easter holidays had a lovely time and enjoyed a relaxing break. I enjoyed my time with my family and I am now back at work.
On Monday, I joined with parliamentarians, trade unionists and members of the public to commemorate International Workers Memorial Day.
It remains a sad reality that too many people die or are seriously injured in the workplace, even with the protections already won by trade unions and the current and previous Labour governments.
Accidents happen, they cannot always be avoided, but it is vital that trade unions, employees and employers work together to limit the risk of serious illness, disability or even death for people when they go to work.
Mourn for the Dead. Fight for the Living.
This is more than just a phrase - it is a vow that we all must keep; protecting ourselves and each other safe as we go about our jobs.
Almost all families, including my own, have experience of a loved one who has been injured or killed whilst working and we owe it to them to remember that individual’s tragedy but also those who have fought and are fighting to make workplaces safer.
