Businesses ready to grow thanks to accelerator scheme

Ready to go East Renfrewshire Council leader Owen O'Donnell helps launch the second phase of the Accelerator programme

The new East Renfrewshire Accelerator programme is underwayand eight local businesses have signed up and are ready to grow.

Funded through the council's economic development local discretionary fund, it is led by Business Gateway East Renfrewshire.

The scheme aims to help firms achieve a turnover of £250,000 and create at least one new job opportunity per business within three years while also focusing on technological adoption, sustainability and strengthening the local entrepreneurial landscape.

Participating businesses are provided with tailored support and expert advice, as well as access to co-working space within the Greenlaw Works in Newton Mearns.

East Renfrewshire Accelerator offers the businesses a wide range of training from Business Gateway staff and industry experts.

Areas covered include networking, communications, strategy development, procurement and sales.
