Johnstone side guilty of the substitution blunder
Disciplinary chiefs have hit Johnstone Burgh with a three-point deduction and £100 fine over a bizarre Kyle Lafferty substitution blunder.
The West of Scotland Premier Division side were found guilty of playing an ineligible player at a disciplinary hearing on Thursday night.
The former Rangers and Hearts striker had been thrown on as a 70th minute replacement for Burgh as they trailed Darvel 1-0 last month.
But somehow it escaped the referee, the Johnstone management and player's attention that the Keanie Park side had already used their full quota of five substitutes.
