Blind painter displays her work at hospice exhibition
Artist Jo Adamson receives a prize at the 2024 Art Department's Big Art Show
A blind artist has used her incredible talent to celebrate two of Paisley’s most famous sons as part of a body of work that will be exhibited in the town this spring.
Jo Adamson, who only has slight vision in one eye, has created incredible, colourful portraits of John Byrne and Gerry Rafferty to display alongside an image of Paisley Abbey at the 2026 Accord Hospice exhibition.
Jo, who creates under the name 'Jo Sunshine Art', is displaying a series of paintings as one of the featured artists at the exhibition, hosted by the Art Department.
She has sold some 2,247 works since rediscovering her love of drawing in 2016 - despite having lost her eyesight in a car crash 10 years earlier.
