Paisley Daily Express
|May 30, 2025
The last 16 players in the Gibby Bentley competition clashed at the Flying Horse in Barrhead for the right to be called Paisley and District singles champion.
-
Tam Norton of Tartan Thunder faced Chris Coyle of Pockets A and it was the Pockets player that proved to be too consistent as he won 4-1.
Andy Bryan of The Midton took on Eddie McCairn of Clachan Arrows. Bryan hit the ground running and was victorious 4-1.
Rab McTavish of St Peter's faced Flying Horse’s John Peacock and, with some real quality scoring, it was Peacock that came out the winner by a 4-3 score.
A highly-anticipated match-up between Dean Fitch of Hagg Bar A and George Millar of Tartan Thunder was next. Fitch had the upper hand as he rattled in a maximum 180, hit a 12-darter and had a 110 finish in a 4-0 triumph.
Hagg Bar A’s Evander Stevenson faced Aaron Perrie of Habbies and it was the Hagg Bar player that came through the tie with a 4-0 win.
