Wrestling event held in his honour
A NEW tribute has been paid to an 'amazing' teenager who inspired people across the world.
Alex Connerty died unexpectedly, aged 19, on Wednesday, January 15, after living his life with a rare condition called Microcephalic Primordial Dwarfism Type II (MPD).
The news was announced by his dad, John Connerty.
Alex became known across Merseyside and the world after he and his family, from Maghull, set up the Walking With Giants Foundation in 2008 to support other families like themselves and look into the causes of MPD.
The foundation has gone on to support families worldwide, fund further research and increase public awareness about the condition.
Several conventions for sufferers of primordial dwarfism were also held by the organisation in Liverpool city centre.
Wrestling was another big love in Alex's life. After his death, Alex's mum Sue Connerty said that they, along with another family, travelled across the country going to wrestling matches.
