Probe into hit-and-run horror near chip shop

DETECTIVES have launched an urgent appeal after a pedestrian was struck by two cars in a horror hit-and-run collision near a chippy.

Emergency services descended on High Street in Skelmersdale shortly after 7pm on Saturday (May 31) following reports that a Honda Civic and a grey Ford Focus had collided with a man in his 30.

He was rushed to hospital for treatment and officers said 'thankfully his injuries are not serious!

It was reported that both vehicles collided with the man following a 'verbal altercation' and neither stopped at the scene. Pictures from the scene shared on social media showed a number of police vehicles and ambulances near to Mike's Fish and Chips and a cordon was also in place.
