Singh Deo: Cold storage units in 58 sub-divisions by 2029-30

The state government has decided to set up cold storage units in 58 subdivisions at an investment of Rs 252 crore by 2029-2030, Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Sigh Deo said here Saturday.
Singh Deo said this after inaugurating the 'Cold Storage Conclave and Buyer-Seller Meet 2025' being organised by the Agricultural Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha Limited (APICOL) in association with Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) in the City.
"The state government has set an ambitious target to establish cold storage units in 58 subdivisions by FY30, with a proposed budget outlay of Rs 252 crore," Singh Deo, who is also the Agriculture and Farmers' Empowerment Minister, said.
Singh Deo said the initiative aims at establishing a robust cold chain infrastructure and creating stronger market linkages for farmers.
