Odisha among top 10 states in JCB sales: Shetty

JCB, India’s leading company in the earthmoving and construction equipment segment, is witnessing a booming market in mineral-rich Odisha.

During a recent media interaction with journalists from eastern India at Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi, JCB India’s Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Deepak Shetty, revealed that Odisha ranks among the top 10 states in the country for JCB machine sales,

Replying to a question on Odisha’s exact position in JCB product sales compared to other states, Shetty said, “Let me first highlight the positives. Our products are extensively used as mining equipment in Odisha. Wheel-loading shovels and excavators are in high demand here. Sales of backhoe loaders, which are popular in rural areas, though have dipped slightly. However, we are seeing stronger demand for these machines in western India — Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh — largely driven by rural development programmes.”
