Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo launches innovative campaign to boost urban green spaces and sustainable gardening practices
Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo Tuesday highlighted the rapid urban growth in Odisha, noting that rising concrete constructions are reducing green spaces in cities.
At Krushi Bhavan, he flagged off a campaign vehicle to promote rooftop gardening across five major cities—Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Sambalpur, Berhampur, and Jeypore.
“The initiative aims to encourage greenery by educating and training residents and institutions in innovative rooftop and home gardening techniques,” Sing Deo said.
