Bhubaneswar set to become region’s mega tech city: CM

Appreciating UCCIL’s support in Odisha’s development agenda, the CM said prosperity will come to the state through the collective efforts of the government and industry bodies

The Capital city, Bhubaneswar, is set to become eastern India’s mega tech city, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced here Tuesday.

Inaugurating the Samruddha Odisha 2036 conclave organised by the Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited (UCCIL), Majhi said the state government has already started work to transform Bhubaneswar into a major technology hub.

“FinTech and InsurTech companies are coming in, major IT firms are expanding, and two semiconductor industries have been established. Bhubaneswar will soon become the mega tech city of the eastern India,” he said.

Majhi said Odisha is now witnessing a real industrial revolution.

“Odisha is rich in natural resources and we have all the elements required to set up industries. But, we had not been able to progress well in industrial and infrastructure development during the last 80 years,” he said.
