Bargarh minor girl dies of immolation

A 13-year-old schoolgirl, who allegedly set herself on fire at Phiringimal under Padmapur subdivision in Bargarh district, succumbed to burn injuries at a hospital in Burla Monday, police said.
The deceased was the daughter of a migrant labourer of Tendapadar in the subdivision. The girl’s mother was staying at her paternal place along with her son and the deceased daughter. Her husband is working in Tamil Nadu, said sources.
The girl went to the playground and allegedly set herself ablaze by pouring petrol on her body around 7:40am Monday. Some villagers rescued her in a half-burnt condition and rushed her to Bargarh district headquarters hospital, and later to VIMSAR in Burla.
