From foreign trips to free tickets to Forest games, property ownership and TV and newspaper roles, Local Democracy Reporter JOSEPH CONNOLLY looks into what our 11 county representatives declared as registered interests

- JOSEPH CONNOLLY

THEY may earn £93,904 per year as a basic salary but some Members of Parliament fancy a little bit more cash in the pocket.

TV appearances, newspaper columns and second homes are just a few of the ways that some of Nottinghamshire’s 11 MPs earn extra money on the side.

MPs legally have to declare any earnings, gifts or donations they receive in addition to their healthy annual pay packet, with that information available publicly online.

So from Broxtowe to Bassetlaw, here’s every penny registered as an interest by the county's representatives in 2025, in alphabetical order by name:

Lee Anderson (Ashfield)

Reform Ashfield MP Lee Anderson's pay cheque from his appearances on GB News is no secret. He still appears on a weekly basis presenting his own show, Lee Anderson’s Real World, and is paid £100,000 per year for his work. He also earns from his social media posts on X and is paid biweekly. He most recently declared payments of £143.65 on December 11, £132.66 on December 3 and £113.05 on November 26. Since December last year, he has earnt a total of £3,541.95 from X.

GB News also pays £50 per month for a square affiliate badge on Lee's X profile, which is visible next to his blue verification tick and. when clicked, takes you to the GB News X profile.

Mr Anderson benefited from three donations this year. Two came from businessman Gary Dutton, totalling £10,000, described as “for local campaigning” and “campaigning purposes” on Mr Anderson's register of interests page. The other, totalling £3,000. came from businessman Andrew Perloff,

He had one trip this year, to France for a “speaking engagement”, which cost £1,500 for flights and accommodation and was paid by E.I.R.P Ltd, a business which lists Gary Dutton as one of its directors.
