Waterfront bar sold after two years vacant

A 'PRIME' Nottingham pub site which has sat empty for more than two years has finally been sold in what will be viewed as a boost for the area.

The Waterfront bar on Castle Wharf had been a popular choice for revellers in the summer due to its position overlooking Nottingham Canal, but it closed suddenly in March 2023.

In November 2024, the building was placed on the market by owner the Canal and River Trust for £600,000, with estate agent FHP suggesting it could be turned into offices, apartments, student accommodation, an Airbnb, or returned to use as a bar and restaurant.
