A LYING drug dealer's bid to convince the probation service he'd been in hospital for an operation were doomed from the start
He forged a letter from the Queen’s Medical Centre as proof.
But the bogus letter contained spelling mistakes and a dodgy logo.
Nottingham Crown Court heard how Shawn Maina’s plan to deceive the authorities was spotted immediately due to the incompetence of the forgery.
The 23-year-old repeatedly failed to turn up for appointments as part of a suspended sentence imposed as an alternative to custody for selling cannabis.
Now he might still end up behind bars if he fails to convince a judge he is living with his parents as he claims, for which the probation service has no record on its system.
