Up to 1,000 new jobs could be created by £100m tip transformation

HUNDREDS of jobs are expected to be created by the £100 million transformation of a former landfill site.
Ashfield District Council plans to build a sprawling "innovation park" on the old tip off Lowmoor Road, Kirby-in-Ashfield, which it hopes will create between 500 and 1,000 jobs.
The district council bought the land from Nottinghamshire County Council recently and has now submitted the first plans for the park's multi-million-pound development.
The new industrial scheme will be built to the north of the council's already-approved automated distribution and manufacturing centre (ADMC), which will aim to support local businesses through cutting-edge automation research.
Councillor Jason Zadrozny, leader of Ashfield District Council, said: "The innovation park is a transformative opportunity for Ashfield.
