EX-MAGPIE JACKSON TELLS OF HIS AFFECTION FOR 'A GREAT CLUB' - BUT DONS BOSS SAYS HIS TEAM ARE 'READY TO ATTACK' PLAY-OFFS

- By SAM ALLEN

'Two evenly-matched sides. It's going to be fiercely competitive'

AFC Wimbledon manager Johnnie Jackson said he has "enjoyed" his recent match-ups with Stuart Maynard and Notts County as they prepare to battle in the play-offs.

Jackson's side went into a pressure situation away at a direct rival for the play-offs in Grimsby Town and won 1-0 on the final day to secure their spot in the post-season.

Notts' defeat to Doncaster Rovers meant Wimbledon went above them into fifth, which could be key in this match-up.

The latter get the second leg at home, where they were able to beat the Magpies 3-0 in the league season.

Jackson, who enjoyed a promotion to League One as a Notts player 15 years ago, has great respect for County as a club and the team they have built today under Maynard.
