Touching tribute to tragic Mia takes to the skies to mark her birthday

A PLANE has flown over Nottinghamshire with a touching tribute to a 12-year-old girl who took her own life in hospital.

The aircraft took to the air on Sunday, displaying a banner celebrating what would have been Mia Lucas's 14th birthday.

The “fun, bubbly” girl from Arnold died at a specialist children’s mental health facility in Sheffield in January last year.

An inquest into her death is due to take place next month.

Her mum, Chloe Hayes, 33, organised the plane. which carried the m message:

“Happy 14th birthday Mia we love & miss you forever xx".

She added: “The pain | feel every day is intense but on days like today it’s even worse.

“It doesn’t make any sense and | wish you would come back every single second of every single day. My life is incomplete without you.
