'Shocking' state of the county's roads will be reviewed by Reform

A NEW review will be launched into how the "shocking" state of the county's roads can be improved.

Short-term pothole repairs and a lack of communication with residents are among the issues the Reform UK-led county council wants to address in the review.

The previous Conservative administration allocated around £20 million for Nottinghamshire's highways network over the coming year and tried to focus on doing longer-term repairs instead of "patchwork" jobs.

But Councillor Mick Barton, the Reform leader of the county council, says Government underfunding means the highways network he now manages is still in dire need of improvement.
