COUNCILLOR SAYS BETTER INFRASTRUCTURE IS NEEDED
PLANS for 300 new homes in Sutton-in-Ashfield have sparked fears about the impact hundreds of new residents could have on roads and sewage networks.
Harron Homes has submitted a fresh application for a new housing development at Newark Road in the latest stage of a more than 10-year battle to build hundreds of homes.
It has asked Ashfield District Council for permission to implement its detailed plans for the development, following the approval of a rough outline. The council's planning committee had delayed its decision on these outline plans, but the project was waved through by the government's Planning Inspectorate in February after a successful appeal by the developer.
