Service that helps children in poverty is set to close

LOTTERY FUNDING HAS NOW ENDED

A COMMUNITY health and education service will close after it lost its funding after a decade.

Small Steps, Big Changes is a social enterprise that aims to provide early interventions in education and health-care to children in poverty, with funding from the National Lottery.

The service, which launched in 2015 and was funded until 2025, provided early years intervention work to give children under the age of four a “better start” in life.

Its services were provided in Aspley, Bulwell, Arboretum, Radford and St Ann's.

The programme announced on their website: “After 10 incredible years of working with families in Nottingham, we're announcing that the SSBC programme is coming to its planned end.

“From the very beginning, our goal was to support and nurture healthy, happy little ones - and thanks to all of you, we've done just that.
