Santa's popping up all over the place this year!

HO, ho, ho! Santa Claus and his elves are facing a busy Christmas across Nottinghamshire at grottos up and down the county.
He'll be meeting youngsters and handing out presents, with many grottos set to open this weekend. Rather than just turn up though, families have to book in advance to guarantee a meeting with Father Christmas, who is sure to know who has been naughty and who has been good this year.
His hectic schedule includes theme parks, garden centres, an ice rink and even a cave. It's not just the kids who are in for a treat since Santa Paws will be welcoming dogs and cats too.
Below is our guide to the best grottos across Notts for a magical family adventure:
NEWARK
Experience the magic of Christmas at the Christmas Grotto raising funds for the YMCA in memory of six-year-old Daniel Harris, who died unexpectedly in his sleep in 2017.
Visitors to Newark North Pole will be welcomed by the Elf Squad, who will make sure you are ready to enjoy your full experience. There will be time to enjoy a drink and a treat while writing a letter to Santa before being escorted by an elf through the winter wonderland to meet the man himself.
The visit includes a 10-minute chat with Santa, a gift, and a digital photograph. There's even a special Santa Paws visit for pets (dogs, cats or any other beloved pet) on Sunday, and lots of other special events, too.
Location: Newark Buttermarket, Middle Gate, Newark, NG24 1AL
Dates: Sunday, November 23 (pets), children from Sunday, November 30 to Tuesday, December 23
Prices: Pets £10, children, £15. Book at www.shopnewark.online.
EAST BRIDGFORD GARDEN CENTRE
Brand new this year, Santa's sat nav will be taking him to the garden centre in East Bridgford. Families begin their adventure at the North Pole, where little ones can help mix the all-important reindeer food ready to sprinkle on Christmas Eve.
