Rugby club's Wags on the Run ready for London Marathon

Affectionately named Wags on the Run, the team - Polly Carr, 26, Alicia Foulds, 29, Jade South, 28, and Emily Gamble, 25 are all girlfriends of players at Nottingham Rugby Club.

The are pounding the Nottinghamshire streets in the run-up to the London Marathon on Sunday, April 27.

The team's fund-raising endeavours have already included yoga and brunch sessions, as well as a quiz night supported by British Paralympic sprinter and tandem track cyclist Libby Clegg, who was a guest speaker.

Housebuilder Peter James Homes, a lead sponsor of Nottingham Rugby Club, has donated £250 to the total.

Polly, an events manager, said that they were motivated to raise cash for the cause after hearing inspirational stories about the resilience of the children helped by the charity.
