Puppy injured as it ran into park bench hidden by long grass

OWNER SAYS IT WAS MOWED SOON AFTER INCIDENT

A PET owner says Nottinghamshire County Council has cut all the grass in her local park since her puppy suffered a severe injury.

Angela White, 56, was walking with her son and six-month-old Hungarian vizsla, Hugo, at Cotgrave Country Park when the puppy ran into a low bench.

Ms White said that the puppy was running at the top of the park near the lake, where four low benches are located.

She said these were entirely covered by grass at the time of the incident on July 20, resulting in the puppy hitting one of them and injuring its knee.

Ms White said: "You couldn't see the benches. We rushed him to the vets and ended up paying £2,000 because we thought he had broken his leg so he had multiple X-rays and it was also a Sunday.
