REEDTZ BROTHERS ISSUE STATEMENT

- By SAM ALLEN

WITH the summer transfer window closed, Notts County's owners released a statement to clarify their position and how they believe they compare to the rest of League Two.

Head coach Martin Paterson and his squad can now fully focus on football until January, with Fleetwood Town up next at home in League Two today (3pm).

The playing surface at Meadow Lane has survived an inspection after a fungal infection forced parts of the turf to be replaced, so today's game will go ahead as planned.

For Magpies owners Chris and Alex Reedtz, it was another busy transfer window, first with the appointment of Paterson as the club's new head coach but also with the introduction of a new technical board and a lot of player movement in and out.

The Reedtz brothers wrote: "It's been a busy summer at Meadow Lane, marked by the appointment of a new coaching team and the assembly of a squad we believe can build on last season's playoff semifinal finish.

"We've focused on instilling greater intensity and athleticism - qualities we believe will enhance our competitiveness throughout a demanding League Two campaign.
