Nintendo Switches up a gear

AFTER an initial teaser in January that showed us a glimpse of the hardware and some fresh Mario Kart, Nintendo revealed far more about the Switch's successor in a Nintendo Direct video earlier this week.

By combining a home console with a portable console, Nintendo struck gold with the original Switch. For the player, it meant being able to play on the TV, then take the same game on your travels.

For Nintendo it meant no longer splitting its resources between two consoles. The original Switch is showing its age now; it launched - in true Nintendo style with fairly low specs at the time too.
