New chapter for historic pub after takeover
Nottingham Post
|September 01, 2025
A COUNTRY pub, believed to date back to the 1600s, has begun a fresh chapter after a takeover.
The surroundings at the Salutation in Keyworth are largely unchanged after a £275,000 makeover two years ago but more homely touches have been added, there's a new manager and the arrival of new chefs has taken the food up a notch.
From oysters to steaks and Sunday roasts, the menu has plenty of variety even for the fussiest of eaters, both at lunchtime and in the evening. Want a nibble? The glazed bangers are just the job for a bite. Whipped chicken liver parfait, tuna tartare and crispy shimeji mushrooms feature in the small plates section, but if you're not a sharer and want a hearty plate of food the lineup includes Derbyshire rump of lamb, steak and ale pie, fish and chips, and crab and crayfish tagliatelle.
Sunday roasts embrace the “very best” Derbyshire treacle-glazed beef, porchetta, roast chicken and beetroot wellington with Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and mash, and vegetables.
