WORRIES ABOUT EPILEPTIC INMATE'S CARE
THE partner of an inmate at a scan-dal-hit Nottinghamshire prison fears he will die there after having multiple seizures.
The man has been a prisoner at Lowdham Grange Prison since September, serving a sentence for manslaughter.
He was diagnosed with severe epilepsy only a year before he committed the offence, with his partner claiming that he was only attended to by prison staff when prompted by another inmate or her sister.
This was despite the man pressing his cell bell to call for help, it is claimed.
His most recent seizures happened on Good Friday, one while he was on the phone to his partner.
She told the Post that he had raised the alarm as he could feel a seizure coming, but he was only attended to by prison staff 40 minutes later, when another inmate alerted them.
