Mum's mouldy home is making her children sick

SHE'S BEEN COMPLAINING TO HOUSING ASSOCIATION ABOUT IT FOR THREE YEARS

DESPITE three years of complaints and a change in the law on mouldy homes, Sukhveer Kaur is still battling with her housing association.

The 31-year-old, from Wollaton, moved into her home in September 2022 and since then her children, aged seven and nine, have developed breathing problems, which she claims her doctors have attributed to mould-induced asthma.

In October, Awaab’s Law came into effect, forcing social landlords to investigate and fix dangerous damp and mould in set time periods.

“I moved into the property in September 2022, and they gave me a property that was filled with mould,’ Sukhveer said. “I've been contacting them constantly since I moved in. I want them to replace the bathroom or move me out.
