Maynard excited to work with new head of football

STUART Maynard does not expect Notts County’s recruitment process to change much with the appointment of Roberto Gagliardi as head of football.

He indirectly replaces executive director Richard Montague, who led on transfers for the club before his departure in February to become director of football at Championship side Swansea City. The Italian Gagliardi boasts a wealth of experience, having performed a number of senior roles at other clubs, including Portsmouth and, presently, Turkish Superlig side Göztepe SK.

Maynard expects to have a similar working relationship with the new appointment as he did with his predecessor, working collaboratively to decide what is best for the team moving forward.

“I don’t think a lot will change in how it worked previously with Rich (Montague),” said Maynard. “He will be the link between us as a management team and the owners on all footballing matters.
